Total Consumption of Spirits
The amount of total spirits consumed in Turkey can be seen as the total consumption of pure alcohol which all spirits contain in different amounts.
The consumption of alcohol increased only 15,82% for the eight- year period between 2004 and 2015.
Between the same years, when it is taken into account that the raise of the gross domestic product on basis of USD is 101% (Source: OECD, March 2014), the consumption progress of alcohol is relatively slow comparison with the growth of economy.
The amount of total spirits consumed in Turkey
The spirits market of Turkey can be examined in two different groups as fermentated and distilled spirits.
While the consumption of fermentated spirits show increase until 2012, starts to decline by 2013.
Raki is in the group of distilled spirits which show a similar consumption trend.
Imported distilled spirits show rapid and consistent increase.
Total consumption of raki has shown decreases and increases since 2004.
